Q)   I am interested in doing some filler or botox around my mouth.  For many years people have always said I look sad or mad because the corners of my mouth turn down.  Is it possible to get this corrected?  If so, what would be the treatment?

A)  Yes, this can be corrected.  By using Botox or a combination of Botox and filler (Restylane or Juvederm), a frown could be turned upside down.  The Depressor Anguli Oris is a muscle that can pull the mouth corners down. Botox injected in these muscles will help release the mouth corners to a straighter appearance.  If there is loss of volume around the mouth corners, fillers can help rebuild tissue structure in this area.  These two cosmetic products can achieve great results.
