I AM SO EXCITED!!
You may say….what what what is so exciting?? Let me tell you! One month ago I treated myself to Bellafill at Innovative Directions in Health!
That’s right! I treated MYSELF, and the whole experience was a TREAT! Here is why!

Lips lines have always been challenging to injectors. Prior to Bellafill, the fillers I used to treat the lip lines around the mouth were hyaluronic acid fillers; Juvederm, Restylane, Belatero, etc. Hyaluronic fillers plump up an area and attract water to the surface of skin often creating a swollen look. After 6-9 months the hyaluronic acid goes away and the lines return to what they looked like before the filler.
By injecting Bellafill, the body is growing collagen in the area around the lips with results lasting 5 years. We are seeing beautiful, natural looking results without any puffiness by filling in the wrinkles with collagen.
The photo below was taken 2 months after a Bellafill treatment for vertical lip lines. Bellafill Background
Bellafill is breaking ground with collagen stimulation lasting 5 years! Bellafill has become the dermal filler of choice because it stimulates and creates your own collagen production resulting in a refreshed and natural look. We recommend Bellafill to patients who want to correct facial wrinkles, treat acne scarring and create an anti-gravity facial framework. How It Works
Bellafill contains collagen and small synthetic microspheres. The microspheres create a structure under the skin. Collagen fills the structure, adding volume to the skin and correcting lines and wrinkles. The microspheres in Bellafill are not absorbed by the body, so the body’s collagen is provided with a permanent structure to support the skin.
What to Expect
Treatment with Bellafill is very similar to treatment with other injectable fillers. There is a skin test that is done prior to injections to identify those patients who may have an allergy to bovine collagen or lidocaine. Lidocaine is provided to minimize discomfort during injection. Upon injection, you will usually see immediate improvement to lines and wrinkles. The amount of Bellafill required will depend on the severity of the lines/wrinkles being addressed. A follow up visit will be scheduled to monitor the results of the collagen growth you experience. We are very excited to offer Micro-Needling to our patients. This treatment addresses so many skincare concerns that our patients share with us every day.
Introducing Micro-Needling
Micro-needling therapy is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of a device that contains a disposable head with fine needles. The needles are used to puncture the skin to create a controlled skin injury at a customized depth to achieve the best result. Each puncture creates a channel that triggers the body to fill these microscopic wounds by producing new collagen and elastin. Through the process there is improvement in skin texture and firmness, as well as reduction in scars, pore size, vertical lip lines and stretch marks.
