Q: What is the normal body water weight for women and how do you test it?

A: The optimal number is 61.8 lbs, but can vary slightly depending on the size of your internal organs and vascular health. Here, at our clinic, we use a machine called “TANITA” that is able to measure your body water, to get a baseline and see if you are retaining fluids. Too much estrogen can cause bloating and measuring this will help us determine if you are edematous (retaining water).
